Bring an Indoor Aquatics, Tennis & Pickleball Center to Naperville

Bring an Indoor Aquatics, Tennis & Pickleball Center to Naperville
The Issue
The Naperville Park District has done an outstanding job creating opportunities for residents to remain healthy and active through a variety of facilities. However, it is our belief that there are a few major holes in available year-round facilities and programming - tennis/pickleball and aquatics. The creation of a RecPlex facility featuring a competition pool, recreational pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts as well as other amenities would benefit the health and well being of Naperville residents.
Aquatics
The Naperville Park District currently operates one outdoor swimming facility, Centennial Beach. While beloved by the residents of Naperville since its creation, the benefits of the facility are limited both in capabilities as well as by season. With Centennial Beach unable to host any competitive events and only able to serve residents for 3 months a year, residents of Naperville are left with little to no access to aquatics for the remaining 9 months of the year.
Tennis/Pickleball
In addition, while the Naperville Park District owns and maintains many outdoor tennis courts and more recently has added pickleball courts. However, there is no public access for tennis and pickleball during the winter months. Like aquatics, a tennis/pickleball facility would serve a wide range of age brackets in the Naperville community.

Lots of people need more places to exercise. On nice sunny days most of the tennis and pickleball courts are full. Swimming is also not too easy because of gym fees and people taking up the swimming practice/class lanes. Indoor versions of these are also something that many people would appreciate because winter limits a lot of people from staying with their smaller coaches. Thanks.
